Julian Wild took two years making his debut full-length album under the name Wild Humans. The album was written and work-shopped in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. There he worked with longtime friends and new collaborators to bring his vision to life.
After the end of a long relationship, Wild found himself living and collaborating with childhood friend and musician, Ryan Jarvis. Wild wanted to capture a proper goodbye to the woman he loved. As he worked, however, he realized this project was more of a goodbye to an era of his life and the city in which he'd grown up.
Fresh off of recruiting bassist Maren Hatch and vocalist April Lisette, the four worked tirelessly to create a sonic aesthetic to support Julian's story-filled lyrics. Working under the name Wild Humans, the group toured and created a kickstarter campaign that raised enough to book The Lab recording studios with engineer Howard Wulkan.
In the middle of creating the record, Wulkan moved his studios' home base to Bokeelia, FL. Not wanting to finish the work through correspondence, Julian Wild picked up and moved to Florida to join Wulkan for another 4 months of recording, mixing and mastering.
The result has become a 6 track EP and a 10 track LP which span two years worth of effort from all those involved. This album, which is self-titled, is a clean and polished tour de force of Wild's songwriting prowess, 7 different remarkable musicians performing at their best and Wulkan's world class skills in the studio.
